How does this impact us?
As our toes become more and more cramped, our balance, center of gravity, and our step change. Our bodies have likely made natural adjustments and you probably didn't even notice that your body was compensating for the narrower stance. Consider though that these compensations can show up as an impediment in form for your squat, jump, and even the way that you plant your foot while walking. Proprioception, or your bodies' conscious placement during movement, is important to prevent injuries due to improper form. Restore your toes to a proper splay and support your ankles, knees, hips and your lower back!
